Centimeter Level Accuracy
Mapping accuracy has reached new levels of precision with the Phantom 4 RTK, DJI’s most compact and accurate low altitude mapping solution. For a full solution to mapping, surveying or inspections, the Phantom 4 RTK offers centimeter-accurate data, with fewer ground control points. The RTK module integrated directly into the aircraft provides real-time, centimeter-level positioning data, achieving 1cm +1ppm on RTK horizontal positioning accuracy, 1.5cm+1ppm on RTK vertical positioning, and 5cm on absolute horizontal accuracy (from a height of 100m).
The Phantom 4 RTK’s 1-inch, 20-megapixel CMOS sensor ensures that you can capture high-quality image data, and the mechanical shutter means you won’t be faced with rolling shutter blur, especially important since most images are captured while in motion. High-resolution images provide the ability to achieve a ground sample distance (GSD) of 2.74cm at 100m flight altitude. Each and every user can be assured of the highest level of accuracy possible, as every lens undergoes rigorous calibration, and parameters are automatically saved into the metadata of each image. During post-processing, software programs use these details to adjust images, achieving unparalleled accuracy in the final product.
Enhanced Accuracy with TimeSync
DJI created the TimeSync system to optimize the effect of the Phantom 4 RTK’s positioning modules. It works by continually aligning the flight controller, camera and RTK module, ensuring real-time, in-flight accuracy. TimeSync also has the function of assigning the most accurate metadata to each image, and fixing the positioning data to the optical center of the lens, allowing images to be optimized for photogrammetry, and helps achieve centimeter-level positioning accuracy.
